21 Malaise Planes
Mentor - Part 1
Have you ever endured insomnia on a red-eye flight? I’ve never been able to sleep sitting upright, especially not when surrounded by strangers, adrift in a metal machine gliding through the sky.
By the second hour of my passage from Seattle to Philly, I believed myself impervious to sleep, and so began a new piece.
Here is part one of 21 Malaise Planes. A new section will unfold each week.
Mentor
First time wanting to ignore the phone call
First glance cobblestone drop facade
I’d say I was swept in wind, crept hollow
by a crows heart
—Where were you
cleft wren
Signed PRATTLE. Hearkening the bog
First softness in the voice
First wish within a jar dish, small dreams
Future pangs coming back to me
